AVIREX

Piece done as part of a bigger collaboration.

Made in one week during Christmas. Tried pushing my limits and traverse unexplored waters. Familiarizing myself with the anatomy and materials of a car, in order to texture and animate it. Also going hands on with smoke simulation as I've never had a chance to do that.

Another small step to allow me to call myself a CG generalist.

The whole project was rendered in Cinema 4D with the help of Octane. The compositing took place in After Effects. A lot of the effect work was done to patch up sequences and give them an extra layer of complexity.
I rendered different passes in order to give myself as much power as possible in post, and some of them were used to create different effects in the end.

In retrospect, if I had more time ⁽ᵗʰᵉ ᶜˡᵃˢˢᶦᶜ ᵃⁿᵈ ᶠᵒʳᵇᶦᵈᵈᵉⁿ ˢᵉⁿᵗᵉⁿᶜᵉ⁾
I would've loved to spend more time on the materials and interesting environments. The car material was acceptable but could use a lot more care and time, in order to make it more alike to its reference. Due to time constraints it was very hard to delve into polishing of all aspects of the project, but I’m overall very happy with the outcome. Especially considering it was made in a week, with little to no experience to draw from.
